Dame Mary Durack AC DBE<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\nIt is the story of Durack\u2019s<\/em> pioneering family establishing its pastoral interests in the Australian outback during the 19th century and deals with the life and times of Durack\u2019s<\/em> grandfather Patrick Durack<\/em>, an Irish immigrant who became a leader of the overlanders who brought their cattle on hoof to the tropical north.<\/p>\n\n\n\nI am researching the modern-day story of the Durack Dynasty\u2026 and the part of the family tree they left out of the book! Plenty to catch up on. Working title Persian Melon<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nOver the years I have been writing with Maggie Hammand at the famous Groucho Club <\/em>( author of Writing for Dummies), creative writing courses in London and Canterbury and working with freelance journalist Kerry Fowler. I graduated with my first degree, an MA in creative writing from Christ Church Canterbury University in 2018 , I did it in one year! My recent writing includes: film reviews for Unified, poetry for Mslexia, articles for WACS, 1North East.
